Another bright and glorious light was extinguished In this world. Ron was a fellow blogger of yore. You may find his blog here: COUNTERINTUITIVE
If you read some of it, you will instantly recognize his brilliance, insight and literary depth. He was not just "well read", he was a bibliophile. One in search of answers to the most profound questions we, as humans, have.
As I sat listening to his three children and wife talk about his life at the memorial it was clear that his life-long love of language was passed on to his family. Their words of love and remembrance were peppered with humor, depth, and kindness. Even a few Latin phrases thrown in for good measure by his oldest.
Like my son, Ron was plagued with depression and anhedonia. He lived painfully trapped in his body and found no joy, love, or light. His final years were ones of suffering and darkness. He sought out every treatment, But to no avail. He did everything that could be done. In the end his brain betrayed him.
I have missed my blogger buddies. I have missed their insights and writings about the goings on in their spheres. My life is lesser for it.
To my friend I have but one last Latin wish: Lux Et Veritas (Light and Truth). My hope is that he found the peace and Truth he desperately sought. Goodbye Ron. Be Free.
